With my professional sound system, large music collection (over 40,000 titles), and my personal touch, I will make your party the success it should be. As Party Host/Master of Ceremonies, I will be a motivator for all activities, and coordinate all activities with the other members of the party professional team(i.e. caterer, photographer, videographer) to ensure that your party flows smoothly and all of your memories are caught on film. I constantly "read the crowd" and adjust the music programming and guest interaction accordingly. All this is done without taking the spotlight away from the "guest(s) of honor". My goal is to create and maintain a fun party atmosphere, while recognizing that my client is the true star of the event.

I will work with you to design your event based on your ideas and personal preferences, and give you the style of music you wish to have played and the amount of my involvement that you desire. I will assist you in choosing the perfect music, selecting the proper traditions or customs and planning the proper flow of events throughout your party. All you need to do after that point, if you wish, is to relax and enjoy the party! Questions About DJ's
• Who will be my DJ???
With Jim Reary’s Mobile Entertainment there is only one, Jim Reary, the owner; therefore you will get the extra effort that you can not get with an employee from another company.
• Will I meet the DJ who will be entertaining at my event before making a decision???
Yes, an appointment will be arranged for a meeting at a convenient location.
• Do I charge for travel or set-up???
There is no charge for either set-up or tear-down except in extreme circumstances and there also is no charge for travel unless the venue is more than 50 miles from downtown Charlotte.
• If my party runs later, can you stay longer???
I love a good party, so in most cases would be happy to stay. If you are having an afternoon event, please schedule enough time when you sign the Reservation form because I may have an evening event scheduled and we would hate to end your event prematurely.
• When will I arrive the day of your event???
I arrive approximately two hours prior to our scheduled start time. If you schedule the light show, I will arrive approximately two hours and forty-five minutes prior to our scheduled start time.
• Do I take breaks???
No!!! You will have continuous music from the scheduled start time until the event ends.
• We have never planned an events like this before. Will you help us set an itinerary for the day???
Three to four weeks prior to your event, we can get together for a consultation and work out all the details regarding the order of events and music planning.
• Should we include you in our count for a meal???
Although it is not required, a meal would be greatly appreciated. I put in about eight to ten hours usually for a four hour event.
• Do you have lighting available???
Yes, lighting is available. The light show will be displayed on a ten foot truss, consisting of up to fifteen flashing, blinking, and rotating computerized lights. Additional set-up space must be made available for the set-up. My Performance Fee does not include the cost for lights unless you schedule them. Make sure you’re not paying for something that’s not being used at your event.
• Do you have backup equipment???
Yes, I carry additional back-up capabilities for each of the major components in the sound system.
• If something happened to my DJ, who would entertain at my function???
It would take a major disaster to keep me from entertaining. In the past twenty years of entertaining, I have never missed an event. But should this occur, I have experienced personnel who could be called in as backups.
• If I want a song that you do not have, can I loan you my copy???
If your music requests are received by me with enough lead time, an all out effort is made by me to purchase your requests to be played at your event. Should this not be possible, I certainly would be glad to play your compact disc or cassette tapes.
• What types of music can you play???
I carry approximately 40,000 titles of music, therefore any type of music is there for the asking.
• Can I make a list of songs I want Played???
Yes! I encourage it. I do not recommend you format the music ahead of time, because there is no way to know what direction a party will take.
• Is your equipment of professional quality???
There is a difference between home audio and professional road-worthy equipment. The equipment I use is built to go on the road each and every day!
• Will you dress appropriately at my affair???
It is important that your entertainer look the part by dressing formal or semi-formal, according to your preference. Themed events and picnics require different attire.
• Will you play the music at an appropriate level???
The biggest concern voiced by prospective clients is the volume level of the music. I will keep the volume at an level appropriate for the quests, especially during cocktails and the dinner hour.
• Do you do more than just play music at the affair???
Most affairs involve more than playing music. That is why I play the music, handle all the announcements and help to coordinate the affair.
• Will you listen to my concerns and input???
I can’t possibly know every aspect of music and entertainment; therefore your input and suggestions are welcome.

Wedding Reception Tips
Your wedding day is one of the most important days of the rest of your life. And with that comes an equal amount of stress. To lessen this stress on you, I would make the following suggestions in the planning of this very special event:
• Immediately after the ceremony most couples have their formal pictures taken. It is important to allow adequate time for this, so that you don’t start running behind before you arrive at your reception. Therefore, plan three to four minutes for each person in the bridal party, including parents and grandparents. So if this happens to include fifteen people, for example, allow forty-five to sixty minutes for your formal pictures.
• If you anticipate arriving at the reception more than forty-five to fifty minutes after your guests arrive, consider letting your guests begin eating as they arrive. Guests have a tendency to become anxious if they are waiting too long. Also if you arrive at the reception after your bridal party, designate someone to hold them outside the ballroom, if they are to be announced.
• Receiving lines can be very time consuming, speaking to one hundred guests for fifteen seconds each, adds up to twenty-five minutes. I you must have a receiving line, either have it at the service site or have just you, your spouse, and the parents form the receiving line.
• Your first dance may be done after the announcement before a more attentive group of guests or at the end of the meal, then your guest can fill the floor after the traditional dances.
• Remember to place your wedding cake away from the traffic flow and out of direct sunlight. Cutting your wedding cake is one of the highlights of the reception, so have it announced for your guests to enjoy.
• When it comes to deciding on your first dance, father/daughter, groom/mother dance, test them to make sure that your choices are at comfortable tempos. This will avoid having to stumble through your dances.
• Musical entertainment is a critical part of the success of your reception. Typically, about twenty percent of your invited guests will be your close friends, leaving eighty percent of your guests older or younger relatives, co-workers, and friends of the families. A good host is considerate of all their guests, keep this in mind when making musical requests, this is a way of letting your guests know that you appreciate them coming.
• The bride and groom are the center of attention, therefore you set the tone of the reception. When you dance, the dance floor will be full, when you sit and socialize, your guests will do the same.
• Schedule your photographer and videographer to be on hand for all your special events. This will avoid having to rush through the cake cutting, bouquet toss, toasts etc. because of time restraints. Make it clear in your contract how long you expect them to stay.

• I am always available to discuss the details of your event by telephone, fax, or e-mail. The telephone number you are given will give you access to me 24 hours a day either directly or to my voice mail. The week of the event, I will check back with you to make any last minute confirmations.
• I will arrive on time and whenever possible, my sound system will be set up and sound checked before your guests arrive.
• I will always be dressed appropriately. Your event may require a tuxedo or you may prefer that I dress in semi-formal attire, casual, or if you are having a theme party, a costume may be the proper attire. Whatever the event, I will dress accordingly at no additional charge.
• I will act professionally. I won’t drink alcohol or smoke before or during your event. I will always treat you and your guests with professional courtesy and when children are present, I will make every attempt to keep objectionable lyrics out of the show.
• I will use only professional and well-maintained sound equipment so that your party will never have to end early due to equipment failure and I will adjust the volume level to your preference.
